Vice President, Global Benefits

Responsible for overseeing the strategic design, development, management compliance, and optimization of global employee benefit programs, including retirement and global pension plans, deferred compensation and equity programs, health, welfare and wellness programs, and our global employee recognition program. Provide strategic direction to ensure all programs are designed to maximize our investment, support the employee value proposition and comply with legal and regulatory requirements across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the global benefits team to ensure high caliber performance is consistently delivered to drive effective management of global employee benefit programs and achieve optimal organizational results.
  • Lead the strategy and design for all benefit programs. Monitor emerging trends and changes in business direction; incorporate plan changes as appropriate. Proactively drive benchmarking initiatives to influence program design to deliver innovative, relevant, competitive benefit programs that align with strategic and financial goals and result in a high employee satisfaction.
  • Work with fiduciary committees to ensure execution of all compliance requirements and effective administration of programs maintained by either internal resources or through third party vendor organizations.
  • Provide oversight for benefit administration activities. Own strategic vendor relationships and ensure effective controls to manage risk and comply with company policies and procedures. Maintain strong relationships with internal partners in Tax, Legal, and Finance to assess and address emerging practices and applicable laws, regulations and SOX compliance issues.
  • Effectively oversee the budget associated with all benefit plans. Participate in vendor selection and provide ongoing oversight to vendor relationships. Monitor vendor performance to ensure high quality service delivery and results.
  • Responsible for ensuring comprehensive communication strategy for employees and plan participants to ensure understanding of the value of our plan and maximize employee engagement. Ensure key stakeholders receive timely information related to all programs.
  • Drive operational efficiency by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to optimize the value of benefit programs.
  • Provide thought leadership and/or expertise to departmental and cross-organizational initiatives. Lead benefit plan due diligence related to merger and acquisition activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 10 years related experience leading complex, global benefit teams ideally in a publicly traded or large diversified firm.
  • Depth of knowledge in benefits administration, including experience implementing broad changes in benefit programs. Knowledgeable of regulatory, tax, and legislative matters that impact benefit program design and/or administration.
  • Strong knowledge of all deferred compensation programs, including equity programs.
  • Ability to lead governance and legal compliance for all benefits plans; build effective, and collaborative relationships with tax, legal, finance and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an integrated global team.
  • Experience presenting to independent Boards of Directors and C-Suite executives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively discuss and influence technical benefit matters with senior leaders.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills for performing cost-benefit analysis and effectively managing benefit expense.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Benefits experience in a financial services industry preferred or leading benefits in a large, multi-faceted global firm.
  • Technical expertise in benefit design, including deep experience in global retirement and pension programs and deferred compensation plans.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
