Job Overview
The Assistant Vice President of Accounting Policy will collaborate with the Vice President of Accounting Policy, finance, accounting, external reporting teams, and other key stakeholders to support complex and non-routine accounting transactions. This role will focus on refining and maintaining significant accounting policies, ensuring compliance with evolving standards, and strengthening the company’s technical capacity to support high-quality external financial disclosures as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including business combinations, asset acquisitions, and impairment assessments.
- Update accounting policies to align with new transactions, business changes, and regulatory updates.
- Monitor accounting standard-setting activities (e.g., SEC, FASB) and assess impacts on the company.
- Develop accounting guidance for new business strategies and transactions.
- Oversee ASC 805 valuation processes and coordinate with external auditors.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing earnings releases, investor presentations, SEC filings, and financial disclosures to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Support SOX and regulatory control execution.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to finance and operational teams.
- Communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Accounting Policy, Financial/SEC Reporting, or public accounting.
- Active CPA license required.
