Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Billing Analyst to manage and optimize our subscription billing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in billing operations, financial reporting, and customer account management within a subscription-based business model. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in billing software, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure billing accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end subscription billing process, including invoicing, payment processing, and revenue recognition.
- Maintain and update customer subscription plans, ensuring accurate billing based on usage, tiered pricing, and contractual terms.
- Reconcile billing discrepancies and proactively identify and resolve invoicing issues.
- Collaborate with the customer service and finance teams to address billing-related inquiries and disputes.
- Monitor and analyze subscription revenue trends, churn rates, and customer payment behaviors.
- Generate and review financial reports related to billing and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of billing automation and system enhancements.
- Support internal audits and financial reconciliations related to billing and revenue processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in billing, finance, or a similar role, preferably in a subscription-based business.
- Proficiency in billing and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, SAP, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with revenue recognition principles and GAAP is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SaaS or other recurring revenue business models.
- Knowledge of subscription lifecycle management and pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with automated billing platforms and CRM tools.
