Cybersecurity Lead
Location : Oakland / Bay Area (On-site at least 3 days a week)
Duration : 6 Months – Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Position Summary
The Chief Cybersecurity Strategist will work with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to assess security landscapes, drive AI-enabled defense strategies , and optimize security tool ecosystems . This role focuses on IT, OT, multi-cloud, and third-party attack surfaces , ensuring the effective use of cybersecurity tools and technologies.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Cybersecurity and operates as a high-level individual contributor at the Director level .
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a vision for security tools and an overarching consolidation strategy
Research, assess, and map evolving security threats to improve detection and defense mechanisms
Strategize and oversee the integration of AI-based security capabilities
Work closely with Cybersecurity, IT, and Enterprise Architecture teams to optimize tool selection and usage
Lead platform consolidation initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency
Create roadmaps for security tools, covering consolidation, replacement, and optimization
Design and implement decision-making frameworks for tool selection and integration
Provide insights and strategic updates to cyber leadership teams
Support the Security Intelligence and Operations Center (SIOC) in SIEM integrations
Conduct research on on-prem and cloud-based PaaS / SaaS security tools
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
12 years of job-related experience in cybersecurity strategy, security architecture, or enterprise security tools
