Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to take a key role in designing and developing custom automated machinery. This position offers the chance to work closely with senior engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to completion. You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing innovative machinery designs, generating detailed 3D models, and creating comprehensive drawing packages.
- Identifying and specifying materials and components and working with suppliers to ensure timely procurement.
- Participating in and occasionally leading design reviews, while maintaining Bills of Materials and managing Engineering Change Requests/Notices (ECRs/ECNs).
- Performing detailed engineering calculations to validate designs and enhance performance.
- Managing technical projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and resource needs are all met effectively.
- Acting as the primary technical liaison to customers, offering expert guidance and maintaining open lines of communication on project progress.
- Collaborating with Controls Engineers and the Manufacturing team to ensure smooth integration and assembly of equipment.
- Supporting hands-on equipment testing and troubleshooting to ensure successful deployment.
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual who thrives on solving complex challenges and working within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks experience preferred).
- Demonstrated success in designing and executing custom machinery projects, from initial concept to final implementation.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, particularly in automation or custom machinery.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not required with relevant experience).
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with clients.
