What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer position at TalentBridge?
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design & Product Development: Engineers play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing laboratory instruments, spanning from basic renovations to complex automation assembly and high-pressure fluidic systems.
- Project Leadership: Assigned independent projects, with minimal upwards trajectory due to the flat structure, but with opportunities for technical leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with PMs, electrical engineers, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Technical Expertise: Heavy focus on mechanical design, though a fundamental understanding of electrical concepts is beneficial.
- CAD Proficiency: Creo (preferred), but any 3D CAD software experience is accepted.
Hiring Expectations & Candidate Profile
- 10 years of experience, ideally with a track record of stability and hands-on engineering expertise.
- Ability to manage full product lifecycle—from concept to production—with a focus on safety, regulatory compliance (IEC 61010), and design for a global market.
- Must demonstrate passion for engineering and complex electromechanical technology rather than broader construction or industrial applications.
Work Environment & Culture
- Highly collaborative, low-ego culture, where engineers must be able to work well across teams and contribute ideas.
- Engineers "wear many hats", balancing both technical execution and strategic input into product design.
- Flexible schedule with at least one on-site collaboration day per week.
- Expanding manufacturing, R&D, and global team interactions (Germany and beyond).
