Job Description
- Provides first and second level troubleshooting of robots, conveyors and ASRS equipment and process issues.
- Works hands-on with the manufacturing equipment and activities.
- Works closely with shift technicians and Planning organization for direct fulfillment of orders as well as inventory consolidation activities.
- Uses judgement, experience and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations.
- First point of contact to provide comprehensive electrical/controls/mechanical equipment troubleshooting of production issues in the shipping department
- Simultaneously managing and troubleshooting multiple issues using sound technical principles to drive resolution and the ability to prioritize issues based on the overall plant's needs
- Stay up to date with training from Engineering and technical SME (Subject Matter Experts) areas on new processes/equipment and/or procedural changes.
- Perform all functions to fulfill production orders (both external and internal) as well as maintain space in inventory through the consolidation process
- Check dropped trailers to ensure safety chocks and trailer stabilizers are engaged
- Cover shift technician vacations as needed
- Experienced in troubleshooting and repair of electrical and pneumatic controls.
- Experienced in troubleshooting and repair of simple to complex mechanical equipment
- Familiarity with conveyor systems
- Familiarity with PLC fundamentals as well as to work through logic for troubleshooting
- Computer literate and understands Microsoft windows to locate files, edit, save, transfer, etc
- 3 Years
- Sound decision making and prioritization skills; can handle multiple tasks as necessary
- Strong people skills
- Good process and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Mechanically and electrically inclined (aptitude for both)
- PC proficient (Excel, Word, SharePoint, passdown)
- Controlled response in emergency situations
- Knowledge in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
- Familiar with Peoplesoft or SAP
- Basic understanding of PLC and/or Equipment automation
- Forklift certified
- Self-starter/self directed. Must be willing to work independently.
- Complies with all policies and procedures of the plant
- Carries out assignments to completion
