Title: Cobol/Easytrieve Developer
Location: Birmingham Alabama - Hybrid (3- Days a week)
10 months contract with possibility of extension or Conversion
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cobol/Easytrieve Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of mainframe programming and a strong background in developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications using COBOL, Easytrieve, and related technologies. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Seven (7) years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using COBOL, Easytrieve.
- Program Optimization: Optimize and enhance the performance of existing COBOL and Easytrieve programs.
- Database Management: Write and manage SQL queries in DB2 for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of programs to ensure quality deliverables.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, testers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support: Provide ongoing support for mainframe applications, including incident resolution and system enhancements.
