Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science or a related science
- Certification: Board Certified Medical Technologist ACSP/ AMT, BLS and continuing education
- Experience: at least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
- Conduct laboratory procedures: Perform a variety of manual and automated laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, blood gases, urinalysis, microbiology, and phlebotomy.
- Develop and validate tests: Develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
- Quality control monitoring: Monitor and maintain quality control systems and measures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of test results.
- Independent judgment: Exercise independent judgment and responsibility while performing tests, with minimal technical supervision.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients based on laboratory findings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test results, quality control measures, and other relevant documentation as required.
- Continuous improvement: Engage in continuous professional development and training to stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology and practices.
