Reporting to the MIT Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering Division to improve manufacturing competitiveness.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build a custom robot based on the need of the application using servo motors, linear rails, and controls.
- Work with stakeholders to understand current processes and issues
- Implement customized robotic solution to remedy stakeholders highest priority problems
- Use strong communication skills to create proposals, negotiate roles and responsibilities, and gain approvals.
- Develop equipment procurement scopes of work and ensure specification is met from planning to production usage.
- Follow Toyota's policies and procedures to ensure equipment and process safety.
- Present reports and updates to stakeholders, management, and executives
- Communicate with stakeholders, keep them informed and engaged, and resolve issues
- Document the project process and maintain project documentation

- Bachelor's degree (or above) in Technology Engineering, Engineering & Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- Professional experience – at least one year of experience including co-ops and internships.
- Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety
- Experience in PLC programming
- Proven experience in development of innovation projects in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with project management including writing detailed scope of work, creating schedules, managing vendors/contractors, and providing regular status updates
- Manage project resources, including finances and budgets, and allocate resources throughout the project
- Proven use of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) engineering software techniques
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally as required (~25%).
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Experience in construction management
- Experience in automotive assembly plant
- Project Management certification
- Familiarity with SAE/ISO, NFPA/NEC, and UL standards
- Proven experience with conducting equipment risk assessments
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting vision systems
