Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN will provide intermediate-level care to patients who require close monitoring and specialized nursing care but are not critically ill. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor patients' conditions and respond promptly to changes in their clinical status.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment such as telemetry and infusion pumps.
Collaboration
Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education and emotional support.
Documentation
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes promptly and accurately.
Quality And Safety
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of care.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
Experience
Previous experience in a PCU, step-down, telemetry, or similar unit is highly preferred.
New graduate RNs with strong clinical skills may be considered.
Skills & Competencies
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
