Position: Sr Project Manager (Hospital Architecture Design) Part Time

The State is in the process of developing a long-term acute care hospital with an anticipated completion date in 2028. The 100-bed, 140K SF facility will replace the existing long-term acute care hospital, providing a significantly larger and more modern setting for patient care and rehabilitation. The process to secure the necessary licensure, ensure clinical and programming needs are met, and achieve this expedited timeline is complex and involves several State stakeholders and private vendors. The State is seeking an experienced, senior project manager to represent the State's priorities, drive accountability among State stakeholders and vendors, and achieve project delivery on the timeline and within the budget provided. The work of this position would commence in the summer of 2025 and see the building through commissioning, with an expected commitment of 5-15 hours weekly.

- Attend regular stakeholder meetings to provide strategic direction and drive accountability.
- Prepare presentations for senior leadership in government.
- Monitor and inform project timelines and budgets to provide regular (at least weekly) updates on cost and delivery projections.
- Support GMP development, contract negotiation, evaluation of trades packages, and other aspects of the development process.
- Monitor contingency and change orders to drive economies for the State.
- Registered Architect or Engineer
- At least 20 years of industry experience in A&E design, project management, and facility commissioning
- Projects related to - or management of - hospital or healthcare facilities
- Experience managing complex stakeholder groups, including public and private sector representatives
- Significant experience with project budgeting, estimating, and schedule management
- Thorough knowledge of construction process
- Local to Rhode Island and available to meet in-person or conduct site visits as needed.
- Flexibility with hours as the project and the State's needs evolve.
