As a Travel Registered Nurse in our Labor and Delivery unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care during the labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess pregnant patients, monitoring vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions, identifying any complications.
- Provide physical and emotional support to patients during labor, assisting with pain management strategies and positioning.
- Assist physicians and midwives in the delivery process, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and sterile procedures.
- Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and newborn, including checking vital signs, managing bleeding, and ensuring proper breastfeeding techniques.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding support.
- Quickly recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, such as preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, or fetal distress.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in labor and delivery.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
