Unit Description
12 bed inpatient unit caring for children and adolescents
Additional Information
Provides nursing services to patients requiring care. Ability to assess the physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients. Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care based on those assessments. Capable of delegating appropriate tasks and supervising ancillary staff.
ABOUT THE UNIT :
24 / 7 onsite security to help the nursing staff, techs, and ancillary staff during restraint episodes.
Portable panic alarms that each staff carry to alarm for code grey behavioral health assistance that become GPS when activated.
Physical restraints / therapeutic holds, locked seclusion rooms, and 4 point locked Velcro restraints.
The nurse-to-patient ratio average is 1 : 7
Techs / child life counselors is 3 total at census of 10 or more.
Added staff / sitters if 1 : 1 close observation is ordered or as needed
Bridgeton & Woodbury use Omnicell charting
Mannington uses Pyxis charting
Bridgeton CAMHU, IBCU (both children's) and vamhu and AMHU units. As well as Woodbury AMHU and manngton AMHU.
Individual must be willing to float campuses to support Psych units within client
Individual must have a min of 2 years experience with Child-Adolecent on a Psych Unit
must list RTO on cover page, no additional RTO will be approved after offer.

First Day Instructions
Sent by client directly to the worker by 5pm the Friday prior to Monday start.
The worker will receive three emails from client.
1. TEAMS link for Monday which is a virtual orientation day.
a. They will attend a Teams meeting and then continue the day with 'at your pace' modules.
2. Education to schedule their orientation classes.
a. Classes take place Tuesday-Thursday, and the candidate MUST attend. If they try to reschedule or miss a class, they will not be able to complete their assignment.
b. The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment. Please ensure your worker has their POCT class date and remembers to attend.
3. HR Email- scheduling an ID Badge appointment and review policy / procedure.
a. The ID badge is very important to obtain prior to their Orientation Shift. This is how the candidate clocks in and out, which is how invoicing / billing occurs!
Orientation - Friday before Monday start candidate will get details via email from the Hospital team directly - please have them check junk folder as well usually around 4 : 30 pm. Badge appointment is also emailed to the candidate by the facility Monday is a virtual day - Teams call starts around 8 : 30 - 9 am. Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday - classes are scheduled onsite 1-4 hours long in early afternoon and details may be sent after Monday meeting is completed Fri / Sat / Sun is Orientation shift which will be on the shift hired for and schedule will be made available after Tue / Wed / Thur classes have been completed by the candidate
