As a key member of our Opto-Mechanical Process Development team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of processes for the manufacture of optical materials, components, and assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optics and mechanical engineering, with experience in precision hands-on skills, including assembling close tolerance parts and using G-code programming on CNC equipment. Additionally, they should have a drive for continuous improvement and be flexible and willing to learn new things.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of processes for the manufacture of optical materials, components, and assemblies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures and training guides
- Provide technical expertise and support to production staff
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve processes and products
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or AAS degree with 10 years of experience in the field of Optics
- 3 years of experience in the field of optics, preferably in process development
- Strong knowledge of optical metrology equipment, including interferometers, profilometers, and autocollimators
- Aptitude for precision hands-on skills, including assembling close tolerance parts and using G-code programming on CNC equipment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
