To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or an Associate's degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field of Optics.
- At least 3 years of experience in optics, preferably in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of optical metrology equipment, including interferometers, profilometers, and autocollimators.
- Proficiency in precision hands-on optical and mechanical skills, including assembling close tolerance parts.
- A drive for continuous improvement and flexibility to learn new things.
Favorable Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Optics and optical materials.
- Precision machining and measurement.
- Precision alignment, positioning, and assembly.
- Interferometric testing.
- Manufacturing processing.
- Precision machining and measurement, including CNC equipment and programming.
- Use of 3D solid modeling software and Creo CAD software.
- Familiarity with Mastercam.
- Process development in an optics shop environment.
- Knowledge of plano polishing on pitch-lapping equipment.
- Knowledge of optical material and coating interaction with high-power lasers at UV wavelengths.
Essential Skills:
