The SVP, Clinical Operations, is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, this individual must be a credible clinical leader and champion for the clinical platform underpinning the brand, defining brand standards, policies and procedures, new clinical products, and improved processes while also leading the operationalization of quality at the local level.
This executive must also possess strong business acumen to bridge business and clinical processes, while also demonstrating the ability to drive revenue growth and improve patient outcomes. It is imperative that this person have experience in both in-home personal care (i.e., non-skilled) as well as skilled nursing (e.g., infusion, wound care); pediatrics experience is a plus. It is not necessary to have experience in hospice care or Medicare.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the overall clinical strategy and clinical platform development for BrightStar care.
- Plan and execute all clinical quality programs for the BrightStar brand, including clinical operations manual, policies, procedures, state and federal regulatory compliance and other documentation to ensure network quality.
- LMA – Lead, Manage, hold Accountable – the franchisor team of nurse clinicians who support local DONs achievement of operational excellence, accreditation and consistency with brand and clinical standards.
- Determine KPI’s for the clinical team and drive continuous improvement.
- Engage with franchisees and local DONs to champion BrightStar’s clinical vision and develop the DON community, including formal presentations and visits to local agencies.
- Key partner to Product Development for Skilled, Non-Skilled and Staffing lines of business.
- Partner with BrightStar technology to drive technology platform improvements and EMR adoption and best practices for the network that drive quality, outcomes, and owner profitability.
- Partner with the operations leader to create and implement “best practice” processes that seamlessly bridge the business and clinical requirements to ensure the highest patient outcomes, along with the highest agency profitability.
- Develop clinical quality training curriculum as it evolves with the business, including supervision of regional clinicians to ensure consistency and quality across all BrightStar Care agencies.
- Develop and Deliver content for regional and annual meetings.
- Manage Compliance and QA processes to ensure clinical quality is maintained.
- Facilitate integration of clinical and evidence-based skills and procedures and standardization of nursing policies.
- Input to Marketing communications so BrightStar’s clinical reputation can be promoted to consumers and national account partners.
- Participate in franchise development and present to prospective franchisees our clinical platform and how BrightStar supports new owners.
- Manage relationship with Joint Commission to maintain accreditation-worthy standards and practices and other third-party industry associations, e.g., Infusion Nursing Society, and seek new external partnerships.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- 10 years progressive leadership experience in clinical management
- Experience in private pay, non-medical home care or home health care (preferably skilled services)
- Hand-on experience implementing or using a leading EMR product
- Experience with accreditation bureaus, Joint Commission accreditation a plus
EDUCATION
- Active unencumbered R.N. license in at least one state
- Advanced degree required (MBA Preferred) and additional certifications strongly preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proven track record driving change and leading adoption of new products and or processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead office-based clinical staff and influence BrightStar’s DON community
- Proven communicator – in person and in writing – with ability to connect positive clinical outcome to positive financial outcome
