Controller

Our client, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Controller to join their team and drive financial excellence. Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor the daily activities of the accounting team
• Train and support accounting team members as necessary
• Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting activities
• Lead weekly reporting and month end close processes
• Manage multiple priorities on a daily basis
• Advise staff to the handling of non-routine accounting transactions
• Drive process improvement activities to increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions
• Take initiative to implement lean, automated policies and procedures to ensure a timely financial close process
• Collaborate with cross functional peers on a servant leader basis supporting the business while following compliance and GAAP guidelines
• Provide technical accounting guidance by performing research, documenting policies and training team members
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Direct team of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury specialists
• Coordinate the payment of invoices
• Daily management of treasury transactions along with daily liquidity reporting
• Management of online banking and company credit card programs
• Act as the key contact for annual financial statement audits and comply with audit requests for information
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP accounting
• 7 years of accounting and supervisory experience
• 3 Years in a Controller position
• Manufacturing experience with high vendor volume preferred

The compensation for this position ranges from $140,000.00 - $180,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
