Job Summary
Our client seeks a skilled Senior Subcontract Specialist to support the Space Systems Division and work closely with our cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead major subcontracts procurement efforts for complex mission-critical hardware and/or services.
- Develop and implement strategies for ensuring compliance with purchasing system considerations and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough analyses of supplier bids/proposals and perform cost and/or price analysis.
- Negotiate subcontract agreements with suppliers, ensuring fair market prices and optimal terms.
- Provide expert advice to management on contractual rights and obligations, ensuring seamless execution of subcontracts.
- Identify and mitigate subcontract risks/issues, developing innovative solutions to complex subcontracting challenges.
- Serve as the primary subcontract business point of contact, representing our client in interactions with internal and external customers.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in supply chain management, contract administration, or a related discipline, along with ten or more years of progressive professional experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Government Contracting (FAR, DFARS, ITAR) and strong knowledge of acquisition principles, theories, concepts related to government rules and regulations supporting major agencies (DoD, NASA, etc.).
- Experience with Statements of Work and SDRL management.
- Proficiency with various contract types (FFP, CR, CPFF, T&M, etc.).
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and provide leadership in developing innovative solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, enabling effective collaboration with employees, managers, customers, and external partners.
