About TAG Academy:TAG Academy is a new, innovative early childhood education center dedicated to inspiring lifelong learning through early childhood literacy. We provide a safe and stable learning environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and personal growth for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our mission is to ensure children enter the school system at or above grade reading level and to foster their social and academic development through our individualized learning approach.
Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Executive Director to lead TAG Academy in its growth and mission to provide high-quality early childhood education. The Executive Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the academy, including strategic planning, financial oversight, staffing, curriculum development, and community relations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong leadership skills, and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, honesty, creativity, kindness, and inclusivity. Additionally, the Executive Director will oversee the implementation of the Lilio early childhood education curriculum, ensuring that it is effectively integrated into the classroom experience and that each child’s progress is closely tracked.

Executive Director Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to support the academy’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum and educational programs, with a strong focus on early childhood literacy, ensuring effective integration of the Lilio curriculum.
- Track and monitor each child’s progress using the Lilio curriculum’s individualized learning plans to assess development and adjust approaches accordingly.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, facilities management, and financial oversight.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding child care and early education standards.
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents, community leaders, and stakeholders to enhance the academy’s visibility and reputation.
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing team of educators and staff, ensuring that they are well-equipped to implement the Lilio curriculum and use data to track student progress.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation within the academy.
- Ensure that all staff are trained, supported, and equipped to deliver high-quality educational experiences for all children.
- Work closely with the Owner to set goals, measure success, and report on key metrics.
- Implement the Lilio curriculum in alignment with the academy’s educational goals, adapting lesson plans and activities to meet the needs of each child.
- Monitor and document each child's progress, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure academic growth and development.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and positive social interactions.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development to stay informed on best practices in early childhood education and curriculum implementation.
- Collaborate with other teachers to share insights and strategies for student development and progress tracking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles, with an emphasis on literacy development and the implementation of research-based curricula like Lilio.
- Experience using data to track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financials, and fundraising efforts.
- Experience with strategic planning and implementing organizational growth initiatives.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with families, staff, community members, and donors.
- Strong commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and child-centered education.
- Knowledge of Lilio early childhood education curriculum is a plus.
SCDSS Requirements:
- Must meet the qualifications set forth by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) for a child care center director, which include:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or leadership role within a licensed child care facility.
- Completion of required director training and certifications as outlined by SCDSS.
- Knowledge of and adherence to SCDSS child care licensing regulations.
- Must complete SCDSS-required background checks, including a criminal history check, child abuse registry check, and fingerprinting.
