Job Summary This is a hands-on position in which you are responsible to ship, receive and deliver supplies, materials and equipment; maintain inventory control and records; perform related work. Products received, stored and shipped may include flammable, explosive or caustic and hazardous material. Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities Receive and unload freight both manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Receipt inspection: check for damaged goods, quantity and quality/validity of order against PO. Deliver and retrieve supplies to/from work and storage areas. Shipping: package and wrap product/packages for domestic and international delivery; process all required on-line transactions (carriers and ERP system) including required paperwork. Projects/assignments as needed by management. Inventory and Clerical Responsibilities Stock shelves and rotate inventory as required. Participate in physical inventory counts of the warehouse and yard, as required. Use computer systems and hand-held devices to access, record and correct data as needed. Proactive communications: use phone, on-line and verbal to provide timely information across departments as needed. Misc.: provide damage claims for supervisor review; coordinate disposal of surplus property. Position Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience in S&R, performing materials receipts/handling, storing, and shipping. Experience with international shipping is strongly preferred. Forklift certification preferred; training will be provided for certification if needed. Passionate attention to detail: documents review for accuracy and completeness; top-quality handling and packaging of product/materials. Proficient with computer use and Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. Willingness to be trained on operation of power and/or hand tools. Strong, effective and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written. Proactive dedication to product quality and serving customers. Strong team player who cultivates a healthful, interactive team environment. Enthusiastic about working in a small, growing company.
