Overview
TalentFish is seeking a dynamic Sales Project Engineer for a direct hire, permanent role in East-Central Wisconsin.
The Sales Project Engineer will serve as a front-line advisor to our client's independent sales rep firm customers. This role requires counseling reps on product selection and pricing to best meet the needs of plan & spec and design & build opportunities brought forward by the reps.
This is a team of creative engineers with excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills who thrive on advising and collaborating with customers. The Sales Project Engineer will also manage projects and collaborate with the shop to create new designs and processes or improve existing ones.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or Associate's degree combined with equivalent job experience.
- 3 years in the HVAC industry as an engineer or sales rep.
- Extensive understanding of mechanical processes and cost estimating.
- Expert at consultative customer engagement.
- Seeks to understand the voice of the customer.
- Proficient at time management, planning, prioritization, and multitasking.
- Serves as an effective brand ambassador.
- Collaborate effectively with the Layout, Operations, and Marketing teams.
- Possesses an appetite for learning and understanding products.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Ability to serve as a strong teammate - Ready to support Inside Sale colleagues in direct service to the customers.
- Possess a high degree of creativity to define innovative and practical solutions that solve customer needs.
What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)
- Deliver front-line advisory and support to customers.
- Provide consultation to the organization's network of sales rep firms to ensure proper product selection based on supplied plans and specifications.
- Provide technical support to architects and engineers based on supplied performance data for products and requirements.
- Establish and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products and competitors' products.
- Partner closely with a rep firm to jointly manage multiple quotes and orders for a large building project.
- Conduct outreach to rep firms to capture feedback on open quotes for the organization's products.
- Drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate the organization and competitors' products for performance, quality, and sustainability.
- Product development.
- Support Technical Sales on its development of new products and product enhancements based on market opportunities and requirements.
- Provide support in the development and upkeep of various product line technical information.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
