- Provide nursing care while ensuring patient safety and promoting evidence-based practices
- Conduct concurrent reviews of patient records to ensure accurate clinical documentation
- Communicate documentation discrepancies to physicians and provide education on documentation requirements
- Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing and five to ten years of acute care medical or surgical experience required
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care medical or surgical experience required
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organization, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and analyze information from various sources
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Experience in Utilization/Case Management, managed care, or Clinical Documentation
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding conventions and DRG methodology
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials
