Overview : The interim Vice President of Labor Relations will be responsible for overseeing the entire labor relations function within the organization. This role will involve a strategic approach to managing the relationship between the organization and its unionized employees.
Company : Prominent healthcare organization
Experience : We are looking for candidates with previous healthcare and labor relations experience.
Location : On site 4 days a week.
Responsibilities Include :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all labor relations issues within the health system.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and labor unions, building and maintaining constructive relationships with union leadership.
- Negotiate, interpret, and administer collective bargaining agreements with unions representing healthcare workers.
- Lead collective bargaining negotiations, including preparation of proposals and strategies.
- Advise management on labor law compliance, dispute resolution, and effective labor relations practices.
- Represent the health system in grievance procedures, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Develop and implement labor relations policies and procedures.
- Train management on labor relations matters, including contract interpretation and disciplinary processes.
- Proactively monitor and analyze trends in labor relations, including union activities and industry standards, to proactively address potential issues.
- Collaborate with the legal department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Work closely with HR colleagues to integrate labor relations with broader HR initiatives, such as employee engagement and talent management.
