What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Engineer-Controls Hardware position at Talentiqo?
This role will work in the client's Contol Hardware team and will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of control hardware to support residential and commercial HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance and reliability targets across multiple platforms and product families, as well as manufacturing support for existing products.
Responsibility :
Lead Controls' new product development projects and sustaining initiatives.
Manage individual projects throughout the complete product development cycle.
Leads new projects with major changes and / or entirely new design.
Lead control hardware qualification and agency compliance test programs.
Interface with regulatory and test agencies.
Interface with vendors, customers, and field personnel.
Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality, and supply chain functions.
Document control designs by preparing bills of material, drawings, and product change notifications.
Design, optimize, and qualify hardware control systems employing advanced analytical methods and experimental techniques.
Ensure design quality, supporting your calculations and design proposals.
Develop complex designs that are significant redesigns of existing products or new to the client.
Sources and analyzes appropriate components to meet control board design needs.
Provides review comments on many electrical design aspects and other engineering areas.
Evaluate new technologies as they apply to existing functions.
Conduct presentations for technical and business personnel.
Education :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. MS Preferred. Preferred emphasis on electronic controls system design / theory.
Experience : 10 years of engineering experience preferred.
Computer Skills :
Comprehensive experience with PCB Design Software (Dip Trace, Altium Designer, Eagle, etc.)
Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products.
Other Requirements :
Intermediate knowledge of control system design and applications, control theory, and PID design and tuning.
Intermediate knowledge of the sequence of operations, software specifications, and electrical wiring methods.
Hands-on skills and experience in working with laboratory equipment, test stands, and instrumentation.
Experience in the New Product Development (NPD) process, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
Experience with communication protocols (BACnet and Modbus)
Knowledge of manufacturing methods used in the HVAC&R field; industrial experience is a plus but not required.
