We are seeking a Field Reimbursement Specialist to support providers and patients across the state of Texas. This field-based, remote role is designed for a professional who understands the intricacies of healthcare access, payer policy, and the operational side of provider networks. You will serve as a trusted resource for healthcare teams, helping to remove barriers to patient access for specialty therapies.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a consultative, field-facing role and can confidently navigate discussions around reimbursement, benefit verification, and payer guidelines. This position requires regular in-state travel to meet with provider offices, conduct training, and build strong partnerships with clinical and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

  • Educate provider office staff on coverage policies, benefit requirements, and billing procedures for specialty medications and therapies
  • Provide clear guidance on navigating insurance workflows, including coding, documentation, prior authorization, and appeals
  • Identify and troubleshoot access issues related to both medical and pharmacy benefit channels
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions to healthcare providers and staff on evolving access topics
  • Consult with provider offices on reimbursement pathways including buy-and-bill, specialty distribution, and assignment of benefits
  • Act as a connector between provider teams and internal support services or reimbursement programs
  • Document insights, interactions, and access challenges in CRM or case management systems
  • Travel frequently within Texas (up to 80%) to build relationships and deliver on-site support

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, patient access, or medical billing
  • In-depth knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefits, including coding, billing, benefit verification, and appeals
  • Understanding of specialty pharmacy distribution models, buy-and-bill workflows, and infusion therapy logistics
  • Experience supporting provider offices in fields such as oncology, neurology, rheumatology, or infusion-based care is preferred
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing territory-based travel
  • High school diploma required; additional education or hands-on practice management experience is preferred
  • Must reside in Texas and live within reasonable distance to a major airport

Preferred Experience

  • Field-based reimbursement support or experience in hub services, revenue cycle, or market access roles
  • Familiarity with payer trends in Texas, including Medicaid, commercial, and Medicare Advantage plans
  • CRM system experience and comfort tracking field activity metrics

Salary Range:
