Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids for HVAC and mechanical projects.
- Source and negotiate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project scope and objectives.
- Perform take-offs and calculate labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Assist in value engineering to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, trends, and regulations.
- Support contract negotiations and pre-construction planning efforts.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3 years of experience in HVAC or mechanical estimating for commercial/industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, and mechanical components.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working with property managers or facility maintenance teams.
- Familiarity with local construction codes and regulations.
- Prior field experience in HVAC or mechanical systems.
