Job Description
This position provides professional respiratory care to patients across varying states of health and illness by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive care plan. As a Level I Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver patient care for adult ICU populations and all patients requiring respiratory support in general units, including adult, pediatric, and cystic fibrosis patients. The role demands quick physical response to emergent situations, requiring repetitive movement and the ability to stand for most of the shift. Responsibilities include maintaining proficiency in adult ICUs and general units, with potential duties in Charge or the Emergency Department upon completion of required proficiencies. New hires must complete all proficiencies within one year of their start date.

Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Vermont (prior to start date).
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Care.
- New graduates must obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC within one year of hire.
- Experienced therapists must already hold RRT status.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Shifts are 12 hours, running from either 7 am – 7 pm or 7 pm – 7 am.
- Employees work three shifts per week, totaling 72 hours per pay period.
- The position includes working every other weekend and rotating holiday shifts.
- Multiple day and night shift positions are available.
Eligible external candidates may receive a one-time sign-on bonus:
- $5,000 for candidates with less than three years of directly related experience.
- $10,000 for candidates with three or more years of directly related experience.
