Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead the design and management of infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and completion of designs.
- Oversee multiple design elements, including plans, surveys, and system components.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Apply standard techniques, solve problems, and ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
- Develop project proposals, reports, and related documentation.
- Attend project meetings, presenting engineering updates and resolving project issues.
- Coordinate technical and administrative activities across teams and disciplines.
- Ensure project activities comply with contracts, schedules, and budgets.
- Prepare status reports, change orders, and maintain milestone tracking.
- Mentor junior staff on design standards and project management best practices.
Business Development:
- Support marketing efforts and participate in industry networking.
- Assist in identifying potential clients and preparing project scopes and fee proposals.
- Collaborate with clients, officials, contractors, and project team members.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Licensure:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, with eligibility for licensure in additional states.
Skills and Certifications [note: bold skills and certification are required]
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
- 12 years’ experience, Aviation background preferred.
- South Carolina Professional Engineer licensure
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory processes.
- Familiarity with state and local infrastructure project communities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment and Requirements:
- Office-based role with occasional site visits.
- May require extended sitting, occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), and outdoor work during site visits.
- Personal protective equipment may be required during site visits.
