Material Handler
Position : Contract to Hire (90 days).
Salary : Starting at $19.00 (depending on experience).
Location : Wentzville, MO.
Hours : M – F (8 to 5 could change to 7 to 4).
Status : Must be a US Citizen.
Travel : N / A.
Reports To : Warehouse Manager.
Must Have : Forklift experience.
Education : Highschool Diploma or GED.
Required : Background check and drug screen.

Job Description : Material handlers are primarily responsible for putting away incoming materials, replenishing forward stocking locations, and picking materials for jobs and orders, through use of a narrow aisle turret truck, order picker, forklift, or by hand. Material handlers also assist when needed in unloading or loading trucks, breaking down crates or pallets during the receiving process, and inventory counts.
Qualifications :
- Forklift experience required.
- Narrow aisle, turret truck experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds.
- Spatial organization skills.
- High attention to details such as part numbers, lots, and serial numbers on paperwork and labels.
- Self-motivation.
- Put away incoming material to assigned inventory locations, following FIFO procedures.
- Consolidate inventory to the minimum number of bin locations.
- Replenish forward stocking locations.
- Pick materials for jobs and orders, following FIFO procedures.
- Follow safety protocols for forklift operation and material storage procedures.
- Assist in inventory cycle counts.
- Assist receiving when needed in unloading trucks, breaking down crates or pallets.
- Assist shipping when needed in loading trucks.
- Achieve 99% inventory accuracy.
- Protect inventory from damage or loss.
- Put away incoming material within one (1) day of receipt.
- Replenish forward stocking locations to avoid empty forward bins.
- Accurately pick materials for jobs and orders quickly enough to avoid production downtime.
Training : Equipment Material handlers will be trained and qualified to operate the following equipment w / appropriate PPE.
