This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of communication payloads for a unique satellite network. You'll be involved in link budget analysis, system dimensioning, coverage planning, and interference analysis. Additionally, you'll support the iterative design and testing of payload hardware and software, working with software-defined radios, single-board computers, FPGAs, and various RF components. Expect hands-on work with test equipment, circuit assembly, and software configuration. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in RF or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in developing space payload hardware and software, particularly for communications systems.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined radios (SDRs), antennas, FPGAs, CPUs, and single-board computers.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C , C, Python, MATLAB).
- Experience working with Linux-based systems.
- Familiarity with hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog) and FPGA development tools.
- Strong understanding of RF air interfaces and multiple access schemes (TDMA, FDMA, etc.).
- Experience integrating hardware and software systems.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Knowledge of communication/networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, LTE, GSM).
