The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S)
Specialist supports the implementation of health, safety, security, and
environmental compliance initiatives in a manufacturing plant. This role
involves collaborating with management, employees, and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections to identify hazards and ensure
regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to
mitigate risks and improve safety.
- Manage health and safety programs (emergency
response, training, occupational health, safety equipment, maintenance).
- Respond to incidents and maintain accurate
records.
- Assist with environmental programs and sample
collection.
- Manage hazardous waste and SDS records.
- Develop visual aids and presentations for
training.
- Participate in ISO 14001 and 45001 audits.
- Conduct training on best practices, hazards, and
regulations.
- Support second shift as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (safety science,
environmental health and safety, or industrial hygiene preferred).
- OSHA or similar EHS certification preferred.
- 4 years of EHS experience (2 years in
manufacturing preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulations.
- Ability to interpret regulations and safety data
sheets.
- Willingness to travel to other California
locations.
