Our well reputed client is currently seeking to add a Civil in their Edmonton office location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a leader to team members, supporting the growth and collaboration of Junior Engineers, EITs, and Technologists.
- Create and implement coaching program to support employee growth and development. Encouraging best practices and processes.
- Participate in the recruitment process of new employees. Conducting interviews and partaking in the decision process of hiring.
- Training and onboarding of new hires.
- Mentor and coach team members on their technical skills and knowledge, encourage and create room for their growth within their respective engineering disciplines.
- Lead by example, provide technical expertise during the project planning and implementation processes. Solve more complex engineering issues and encouraging innovation within the team.
- Work collaboratively with other departments, ensure alignment between the firm goals and engineering objectives.
- Provide expertise as it related to technical matters to the team members.
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, new technologies, and methods within project workflows.
- Engineering analysis and detailed design of roadway and civil grading projects
- Analyzing and processing topographical survey information
- Preparation of engineering design, as-built/record drawings and other plans using Civil 3D
- Preparation of design quantities and cost estimates
- Preparation of technical reports, tender documents and specifications
- Technical support/engineering expertise to field staff during the construction phase
- Project management to achieve project quality, schedule and budget objectives
- Assisting with preparation of business proposals
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients
- Collaborating with our team to improve work processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, and leading in a technical engineering environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and strong social skills, able to work closely with clients, customers, colleagues, and government agencies.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Flexibility to act in a fast-paced and changing environment to match project schedules
- Well connected and well-networked within the industry.
- Technical expertise in civil and technical engineering. Including but not limited to, bridges, road design, water design, municipal designs, etc.
- Ability to travel as needed within Western and Northern Canada (pertaining to project schedules and company needs).
- 8 years of experience in technical engineering discipline, P.Eng.
- Competitive compensation package. $90,000-120,000 annual salary (dependent on experience).
- Ability to work hybrid (min. 2 days per week in office weekly)
