Responsibilities:
The Electrical Superintendent for Data Centers plays a pivotal role in successfully delivering complex electrical systems for mission-critical facilities. This role requires expertise in data center infrastructure, leadership capabilities to manage teams, and navigating the technical challenges associated with high-performance electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee construction activities, including construction methods, sequencing, manpower allocation, material requirements, equipment usage, and work schedules.
- Train and supervise field staff to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Manage day-to-day operations of multiple mid-sized projects through assigned Electrical Foremen.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, critical path dates, and milestone timelines.
- Effectively communicate site issues, conflicts, schedules, and quality concerns to the Project Manager and owners.
- Address and resolve field construction problems promptly.
- Maintain open communication with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials, inspections, and resources aligned with project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols through weekly inspections, toolbox talks, and corrective action implementation.
- Assist the Safety Department in investigating and following up on incidents or accidents.
- Review and understand subcontractor scopes to ensure adherence to schedules, quality standards, and contract requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in resolving subcontractor disputes, quality control measures, and schedule coordination.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and owner representatives to ensure construction aligns with drawings and specifications.
- Assist the Project Manager in negotiating claims, change orders, and implementing adjustments.
- Provide input on project cost and schedule forecasts to the Project Manager.
- Lead project close-out activities, ensuring timely completion of punch lists.
- Mentor and guide Project Associates to support their professional development.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3 years of experience supervising electrical work for construction projects for data centres as an Electrical Superintendent OR Electrical General Foreman.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.
- Preferred experience with mid-sized tenant build-outs and commercial renovation projects.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control, with the ability to manage and oversee small to mid-sized teams.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
- 10 years in electrical construction project supervision
- BS degree in engineering or construction management
