Our client, an established property management company headquartered in Vancouver, are looking for an entry-level Mobile Building Operator to join their operations team for a portfolio of mixed commercial properties across Vancouver and Richmond. You will be reporting to the Director of Operations who will provide training and mentorship for you to start your career in building operations.
The best fit for this role will be someone who has completed their 5th class Power Engineering, has a passion for commercial real estate and looking for an organization to start their career that offers internal growth potential, or someone with a property maintenance background who wants to join the CRE industry. You will have good written and verbal communication skills, with an understanding of building codes, building systems, and applicable trades. You will provide excellent customer service for tenant, vendor, contractor communications by email and/or phone.
Mobile Building Operator Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will receive an annual base salary between $50,000-$55,000 benefit plan company vehicle provided company phone provided gas card home depot card 15 days vacation 5 paid sick days annual salary increases growth potential.

Mobile Building Operator Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acting as the public face of the company for the portfolio of properties under your oversight
- Acting as a primary point of contact regarding operational and maintenance issues for tenants and owners
- Troubleshooting and providing minor routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical
- Responding to occupant complaints and performing minor repairs
- Performing building checks and maintaining operations
- Regularly completing the daily activity log at each property
- Maintain a current inventory of tools and supplies at each property
- Liaising with contractors and trades
- Monitoring, inspecting and testing environmental, safety and security systems
- Scheduling and prioritizing work
- Obtaining contractor estimates and quotes and ensuring completion of work
- Light cleaning and custodial work from time-to-time
- Ability to be on call for emergency response
- 1-3 years of trades/maintenance/building operations experience is ideal
- 5th Class Power Engineering ticketed (or willing to obtain with company’s financial support)
- Experience with mechanical systems such as HVAC and DDC is an asset.
- Attention to detail and ability to work systematically to keep the properties in a well maintained condition
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to work independently without supervision
- The ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely fashion
- Computer skills: ability to use Microsoft office suite as well as emails
- Independent problem solver
- An outgoing and friendly demeanor is highly valued
- Familiarization with emergency procedures in the event of a fire, flood etc.
- Valid Drivers License
