This busy architecture firm in downtown Vancouver are seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Designer or Intern Architect who would like to continue developing their front end/design hours, to join this dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong design aesthetic, excellent technical skills, and a keen eye for detail. As an Architectural Designer, you will be involved in all phases of the design process, from conceptualization to construction documentation. THE JOB
This busy architecture firm in downtown Vancouver are seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Designer or Intern Architect who would like to continue developing their front end/design hours, to join this dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong design aesthetic, excellent technical skills, and a keen eye for detail. As an Architectural Designer, you will be involved in all phases of the design process, from conceptualization to construction documentation. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and other design professionals to deliver exceptional architectural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative design concepts and solutions for a variety of project types, including multi-family residential, commercial, and senior living projects
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and models using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information and assess project requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design integrity and project feasibility.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design ideas and project updates.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure innovative and sustainable design solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
- 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating design skills and project experience.
- Some multi-family wood-frame experience preferred (4-6 storey), such as large apartment buildings, at least 3 of these projects
- Must have experience working with the building codes and bylaws in Canada and good knowledge of them
- Proficiency in design and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction processes.
- Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable design is a plus.
