Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Project Manager participates in construction projects, conceptual development and oversees their organization, scheduling, and implementation to ensure success.
Additionally, you will:
- Supervise workers and subcontractors.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
- Manage contracts, revisions, and agreements with clients, architects, and suppliers.
- Develop contingency plans and address delays, weather issues, and emergencies per OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with owners, contractors, and designers to resolve project challenges.
- Interpret plans and contract terms for staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Plan, organize, and oversee all construction activities.
- Prepare budgets, cost reports, and billing submissions on schedule.
- Create project schedules to meet client expectations and optimize productivity.
- Hire and manage subcontractors for specialized work (e.g., painting, plumbing).
- Review project documents to determine construction methods.
- Implement and monitor quality control programs.
- Evaluate construction methods for cost-effectiveness.
- Inspect projects to ensure compliance with codes, safety, and quality standards.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
Your Background & Capabilities
- 7 years Project Manager experience with at least 4 years focused on the Corporate/Retail market segments.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget, as well as capably overcoming significant challenges to ensure success.
- Success managing multiple projects with varied needs and deadlines, with demonstrated ability to keep track of and manage details while keeping the big picture in mind.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or other relevant field, desirable.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and MS Project.
- Experience working with construction software such as Procore preferred.
- Candidates must have a valid California Driver License and a driving record in good standing. All final candidates will be required to have a Fitness for Duty Test, Drug Screen, Motor Vehicle Report, and Criminal Background Check prior to hiring.
