Email resumes to jgarcia@ FULL DESCRIPTION : Our client is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance software for embedded systems. This role will involve collaborating closely with both hardware and application teams to design, debug, and validate products in the orthopedic and cardiovascular fields. You will play a key role in troubleshooting and improving product performance, usability, and reliability. You will be working on products related to orthopedic procedures such as knee and hip replacement, as well as cardiovascular systems. This will include collecting, analyzing, and transmitting data securely to the cloud. As part of the Research and Development team, you will be part of an interdisciplinary group of engineers striving to push the boundaries of medical technology. The selected candidate will be responsible for : -Develop new software and maintain existing software for embedded systems.-Perform root cause analysis and assist in resolving software bugs.-Collaborate with hardware development teams to ensure seamless product integration and validation.-Work with application development teams to ensure proper systems integration and functionality.-Act as a point of contact for Customer Support regarding firmware and software issues.-Contribute to the optimization of product performance, reliability, and user experience.-Ensure the transmission of product data to the cloud is accurate and secure. The selected candidate will also possess : -Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and processes.-At least 3 years of experience in embedded software engineering.-Experience with quality management systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards.-Experience in the development of medical devices in an FDA-regulated environment.-Familiarity with implantable devices or technologies such as pacemakers, infusion pumps, or diagnostic systems.-Proficiency in C / C , Java, and SQL.-Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and services.-Knowledge of microcontroller-based software development (, ARM, STM32, TI).-Strong background in hardware and software integration in embedded systems.-Familiarity with communication protocols and low-level drivers (SPI, I2C, USB, UART, PWM, Ethernet, etc.).-Experience with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensors.-Exposure to fast control loops, especially those involving motors and sensors.-Experience with FreeRTOS or similar real-time operating systems.-Proficiency in using development tools such as compilers, debugging software, build management systems, and source control tools.-Excellent troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.-Ability to read and interpret datasheets, circuit diagrams, and hardware specifications to understand their impact on software design.-Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.-Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.-A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.-Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams across different regions and cultures.-A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Salary Range : $120k-140k / yr For immediate and confidential consideration, please email your resume to jgarcia@
