Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, organizing and executing production schedules for the plant.
Essential Functions
- Under general direction, ensures the production schedules are current and sequenced for maximum productivity and to fulfill customer delivery requirements.
- Checks production activity to provide a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Works with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, design changes, and material/labor shortages.
- Prepares raw material purchase orders with suppliers.
- Maintains production scheduling recordkeeping in SAP.
- Coordinates with suppliers to have raw material available for scheduled production. Resolves raw material shipment
discrepancies/issues. - Communicates and coordinates with suppliers, Avient Central Planning, Logistics, and Warehouse Operations.
- May assist with evaluating production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tool and manpower requirements.
