We are partnered with a leading global project finance bank that has a strong track record of financing large-scale projects and investments across an array of sectors. The project finance division specializes in providing structured finance solutions and advisory services to clients in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The bank is seeking to hire for Associate and VP positions within its newly established Project Finance Agency team, which operates under Project Finance Portfolio Management.
The Project Finance Portfolio Management team oversees a diverse portfolio of project finance transactions, including a mix of agency, bilateral, and syndicated accounts spanning various energy verticals such as renewable power, thermal power, infrastructure, oil & gas, and mining. The team ensures efficient analysis, decision-making, and ongoing portfolio performance.
Position Overview:
The Project Finance Agency role will independently manage a portfolio of roles in Project Finance, including Administrative Agent, Intercreditor Agent, Depositary Bank, and Collateral Agent. The role involves overseeing loan documentation, coordinating with lender groups, borrowers, legal counsel, and consultants, ensuring compliance with loan provisions, and maintaining accurate collateral records before and after financial closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Agency Management:
- Provide exceptional service to clients and lenders, fostering strong relationships.
- Review draft loan documents before financial closing to ensure agency provisions meet company standards, collaborating with loan originators and legal counsel to recommend necessary changes.
- Monitor and track compliance deliverables for each assigned transaction.
- Set up and manage data sites for new transactions, ensuring all lenders are added.
- Coordinate with lenders and act as Administrative Agent, ensuring actions align with financing agreements.
- Lead calls with lenders, borrowers, and consultants, providing clear communication and updates.
- Distribute required reports and information to participants, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Respond promptly to requests from transaction participants.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of work, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive file systems for each deal.
- Coordinate and gather necessary Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation and onboarding requirements.
- Work closely with other departments on administrative matters to facilitate smooth operations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Other Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support junior team members, assisting in their development to work independently.
- Assist management with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
- Attend meetings and visit sites (both domestic and international) as required.
- Work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines or manage increased workload.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS, LLM) are a plus.
- VP role: 6 years of experience in Agency Services, particularly supporting Project Finance transactions.
- Associate role: 2-5 years of experience in agency services or credit analysis, preferably supporting project finance transactions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review contracts, cash flow models, and deal structures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
