Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Design Manager to lead our transportation design projects in Denver, collaborating with CDOT, local municipalities, and city agencies. This role is ideal for a seasoned transportation engineer who excels in project management, technical leadership, and mentorship. The Technical Design Manager will oversee highway, roadway, and multimodal projects, while coaching and developing a team of younger engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of transportation projects in collaboration with CDOT, city governments, and municipal agencies.
- Serve as a technical expert, providing oversight on roadway, intersection, and multimodal design projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships to ensure successful project execution.
- Mentor and develop a small team of junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental specialists, and construction managers.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of transportation engineering experience with a strong background in highway and roadway design.
- PE License required (Colorado PE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Proven experience managing projects for CDOT, municipalities, or local agencies.
