We are partnered with a leading global project finance bank that has a strong track record of financing large-scale projects and investments across an array of sectors. The project finance division specializes in providing structured finance solutions and advisory services to clients in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The Project Finance Portfolio Management team is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of project finance transactions, including a mix of agency, bilateral, and syndicated accounts spanning various energy verticals such as renewable power, thermal power, infrastructure, oil & gas, and mining. The team ensures efficient analysis, decision-making, and ongoing portfolio performance.
The VP will take full responsibility for the independent management of an assigned portfolio, which includes providing agency services, conducting thorough assessments of creditworthiness, contracts, cash flow, and budgets, and making recommendations on approvals, denials, or alternative structures. The role also involves addressing any credit deviations or concerns raised by management. Additionally, the VP will be responsible for preparing internal and external reports in line with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Agency Services:
- Manage the actions of lenders as the agent, in line with financing agreements.
- Provide efficient service to clients and lenders in the role of agent.
- Oversee conditions precedent, drawdowns, and repayments for assigned transactions.
- Coordinate lender actions for amendment, waiver, or consent requests.
- Distribute necessary information and reports related to agent transactions to participants.
- Respond promptly to requests from participants.
- Ensure accurate, secure, and timely completion of tasks.
- Perform agent duties requiring communication with sponsors, lenders, legal teams, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate actions directed by the lender group in distressed situations (e.g., restructurings or workouts).
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor and analyze credit structures and report changes to senior management.
- Prepare amendment and waiver requests after evaluating the credit impact.
- Continuously monitor transactions and adjust credit ratings when necessary.
- Conduct credit rating reviews and complete other internal reporting requirements per credit policy and procedures.
- Report significant adverse changes to senior management promptly.
- Build and maintain relationships with agent banks and borrowers.
- Coordinate loan administration tasks with back-office teams.
- Provide support to the origination team as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain credit files, financial records, legal documents, and other essential information.
- Manage KYC due diligence and customer onboarding processes.
- Follow up on items pending in internal portfolio tracking systems.
- Collaborate with other departments on administrative matters.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
- Mentor and guide junior staff to help them work independently.
- Assist senior management with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Travel to sites and attend domestic and international meetings as needed.
- Work overtime or on weekends during peak periods when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration is required; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or LLM) is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in agency services or portfolio management, specifically related to project finance transactions.
- Strong ability to analyze credit, contracts, cash flow models, and deal structures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Salary : $125,000 - $185,000
