Job Summary:
The Crew Leader facilitates the efficient operation of the worksite by performing a variety of tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead crew
- Ensure equipment is ready and work orders are understood
- Effectively run a crew of 2 to 3 employees with the jobs scheduled for that day
- Identify any tree/shrub on the worksite that is quoted to be pruned or removed
- Fully understand how trees/shrubs function and the biology behind them
- Start getting ready for certified arborist exam. If ready, take the exam
- Give direct orders to your crew so worksite is safe and efficient
- Problem solve any issues that may arise at the jobsite
- Communicate with customer and fully explain what is going to be done and why
- Read directions thoroughly and understand each work order to the fullest
- Can teach techniques and skills to other up and coming crew leaders/new employees
- Properly fill out paperwork at the end of every job
- Calling and communicate to all customers and follow-up.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, product, service, or area of customer service specialization
Education and Experience:
- Minimum: 18 years or older (OSHA requirement) and High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Prior tree experience (Minimum of 3 years)
- Preferred: ISA certification, TCIA certification
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Working environment: Outside
- Exposures encountered: Low to loud noise, sometimes repetitive or constant
- Prolonged periods of: bending, squatting, climbing, walking
- Physical effort: lifting up to 55 pounds
Hours and Status:
Full Time Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with the possibility of reduced hours during the company’s winter season (typically October – February)
