What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Insurance Specialist position at Tallahassee Ear Nose and Throat?
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to coordinate patient insurance verification and serve as support for the Business Office team through the following key responsibilities:
- Calls to insurance carriers and use of on-line insurance websites to confirm insurance eligibility and benefits for all patients and documentation in patient's demographics of these benefits.
- Obtain authorizations for out-of-network insurances when needed.
- Assist with incoming patient calls and front office insurance inquiries / questions.
- Assist with all Business Office tasks / responsibilities.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- At least two years’ medical office experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance benefits and benefit verification and authorization process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications
- Self-starter with exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment, manage time efficiently, and multi-task
- Ability to work well in a stressful environment and in situations that demand patience
