Fitness and Wellness Coordinator/Assistant Coach

What You’ll Do
As Fitness and Wellness Coordinator/Assistant Coach, you’ll assist in providing vision, leadership and oversight for all aspects of the assigned program, as directed by the Head Coach.
As Fitness and Wellness Coordinator/Assistant Coach, you’ll assist in providing vision, leadership and oversight for all aspects of the assigned program, as directed by the Head Coach.
As part of your job responsibilities, you will:
- Schedule and coordinate operations of the Lifetime Sports Complex. Along with establishing programs and group exercise classes including yoga, personal training, spin classes, and any other exercise-related classes. This includes, but is not limited to staffing, preventative maintenance and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff.
- Develop programs and marketing strategies for the Lifetime Sports Complex wellness programs that promote good lifestyle habits. These can include hygiene, time management, diet, and other life skills. These marketing strategies should be visible and should promote healthy practices that improve a student’s overall wellbeing.
- Identify and recruit high-quality student athletes, assist with all travel arrangements, practice and game preparation, break down and edit films of opponents, monitor and track academic progress of student athletes and promote, plan and execute summer camp. As well as other duties assigned by Head Coach.
- Assist in the development, short-range and long-range planning, implementation and evaluation of Lifetime Sports programs in cooperation with the Department of Physical Education faculty, Athletics, the Department of Student Services, Conference and Events, and other college officials. Speak to classes and at orientation about the Department of Student Services, Campus Recreation and Intramural Sports about the positive effects of being involved in extracurricular activities. Attends and presents at workshops and conferences. Maintains professional membership with NIRSA and attends professional conferences.

- Associate’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical/Health Education, Nutrition or related field.
- Two (2) years of work experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical/Health Education, Nutrition or a related field is preferred and one year of coaching experience in the appropriate athletic program.
