Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Principal at Tallahassee Collegiate Academy (TCA). TCA has been recognized as an "A" school by the Florida Department of Education and the College has been recognized as an “A” school district. What You’ll Do
The Principal will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of Tallahassee Collegiate Academy, ensuring the highest standards of education and student achievement. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive school culture, promoting innovative teaching practices, and engaging with the community. This position will be responsible for directing overall site operations, services and staff; building community partnerships; developing strategic priorities; and complying with statutory requirements. This position is also committed to the mission of the high school which is for each student to earn an Associate of Science degree in a STEM discipline and a high school diploma simultaneously.

Day-to-day, responsibilities will be:
- Administers the rules, regulations and policies as set forth by the Governing Board and Florida Department of Education. Evaluates licensed instructors through use of the Florida’s best practices for teachers. Properly maintains appropriate records and reports. Prepares required reports and works closely with the Provost to develop performance metrics.
- Oversees and monitors disciplinary procedures for all students, in alignment with the TSC Charter School Code of Conduct. Develops and implements procedures to govern the TSC Charter School.
- Administers and manages operating budget. Reviews expenses and budget allocations regularly and plans accordingly.
- Creates a positive school culture and learning environment by implementing academic programs that enhance the growth and development of students and teachers. Develops and implements programs to enhance educational experience for students. Collaborate with community partners, faculty and leadership to promote and enhance student learning experiences. Ensures that programs are relevant to the changing educational environment.
- Provides proactive leadership in promoting the vision and mission of Tallahassee State College Charter School. Engages in strategic planning and provides leadership for academic programs and service activities. Provides direct oversight for the recruitment, training and development of faculty, staff, and other administrators. Provides leadership in establishing educational goals for the school. Oversees the planning and supervision of extra and co-curricular activities.
- Oversees facility maintenance and repairs, leading the completion of campus revitalization, leading communications and networking as related to crisis/emergency events, promotion materials, social media, and other dissemination efforts.

- Master’s degree from a regionally or approved institution in education or related field and have worked full-time in an educational leadership position, in a Florida school for at least three years.
- Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience: teaching or overseeing STEM programs and curriculum; leadership experience in a charter school; experience with dual enrollment; proven record of improving student outcomes, innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
