Strategic Communications Specialist
Tallahassee State College is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Strategic Communications Specialist – P01724 in Communications and Marketing. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community.
What You’ll Do
The Strategic Communications Specialist is responsible for pitching media, responding to media requests, and social media strategy, content creation, management, and data reporting.
The Strategic Communications Specialist is responsible for pitching media, responding to media requests, and social media strategy, content creation, management, and data reporting.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Writes, edits, and produces content for press releases, social media, website, marketing campaigns, and internal and external College communications.
- Assists in the management of communications technology tools for the department including but not limited to earned media monitoring and social media management systems.
- Leads social media efforts for assigned channels by developing content calendars and engaging content plans, producing and curating content, and tracking performance. Monitors daily social activity and engages communities through relevant content, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Generates regular and as-needed analytics reports to monitor earned media, social content performance, and student communications effectiveness, using performance indicators and industry best practices to continuously enhance efforts.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study.
- One year of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations.
- Writing, proofreading, video production, content creation, and data analysis experience is highly desired.
