What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Order Picker position at Talley Inc.?
Job Summary: The Order Picker function is an advanced position within the Operations department. In this role, you will be responsible for picking customer orders and internal material transfers in accordance with Talley’s established procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Pick customer orders, of all types, accurately, and in a timely manner
- Determine if orders can ship via the manner indicated on the picking ticket and take the necessary actions to resolve incompatible shipping methods
- Provide picked orders to the shipping team / will call support for outbound processing
- Demonstrate and apply analytic problem-solving skills to resolve day-to-day inventory issues that impact order-picking processes
- Participate in daily cleaning and upkeep of the facility
- Additional job duties and responsibilities may be added at any time, as business needs may dictate.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Must be able to operate a standard and stand-up forklift.
- Required to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend and reach overhead
- Must be able to work under deadline pressure as organizational skills are the key to finding and providing merchandise quickly and accurately for customer orders.
- Experience using a handheld scanner
- Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience required: 1-year warehouse experience.
- Ability to read and write in English. Basic math skills.
- Customer Service skills a plus
- Must be able to present and live by the Talley Goal of making Talley the Premier Distributor in the Wireless Communications Industry.
