Join our team at Talley Vineyards, a family-owned and operated California wine estate, as we seek four enthusiastic full-time cellar interns to support our production staff during the 2025 harvest season. We produce approximately 25,000 cases of wine annually, focusing on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Grüner Veltliner, and Sauvignon Blanc from our 120-acre vineyard.
Responsibilities
- General Sanitation: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout the winery, including equipment and barrels.
- Fruit Reception and Processing: Assist with receiving, weighing, sorting, and processing grapes.
- Pumping Operations: Safely operate pumps in accordance with established protocols.
- Winemaking Tasks: Perform punch downs, pump-overs, transfers, and other duties necessary for smooth winemaking operations.
- Barrel Maintenance: Fill and top barrels as required.
- Lifting and Physical Demands: Lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physically demanding tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
This position begins around late July/early August, 2025, and concludes in late October, 2025, depending on Mother Nature's conditions. Work hours typically start at 6:00 AM, although flexibility is required due to changing harvest conditions. Punctuality is essential, with attendance and reliability critical to success in this role.
