Activities Assistant

Are you looking for a meaningful way to utilize your compassion, skills and knowledge of memory care/dementia in order to make a positive impact? If so, consider joining our team as an Activities Assistant (Intermissions Associate).

In this role, you will make a difference not only in the lives of our residents who participate in our Intermissions Program, but in their families lives, as well, helping them navigate the challenges of dementia.

Compensation: Starting at $16.00 per hour, based upon experience

Part-Time: 20 - 30 hours/week

Shift: Mon - Fri 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., some evenings and weekends may be required for special events

How you will make an impact

• Co-lead social activity-based programming for Intermission participants
• Adopt a person-centered approach and an environment that supports the needs of each individual resident
• Design and implement creative programming
• Assist in program operation by leading activities and transport residents to and from programs
• Engage in mealtime preparations
• Complete daily attendance records
• Attend in-services and other training to increase job knowledge and skills in working with participants

What you will need

• Patience, flexibility, and the sincere interest and desire to work with residents affected by dementia
• Programming/activity experience is preferred
• Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings/weekends
